Top 3 lunch spots you have to try in the North-east

It comes as no surprise that we all love a little lunch out, right? For most of us, we love nothing more than enjoying a nice plate of food, a glass of wine, some great company in the best spots in Aberdeen.

Sometimes, picking a place can be a tough ask, thats why we have illuminated the pressure and picked our top 3 lunch spots this month to inspire you and get those tummies rumbling ?

Vovem Meat and Liquor

Union Street. Opens at 11am.

Vovem Meat & Liquor

Have you heard about this absolutely stunning new steak restaurant and bar?

This venture, owned by PB Development Company AKA PB Devco, opened up in the tail-end of 2018 with two (yes two) bars. One bar you will be able to see clearly and the other? Well that is a *SECRET!*

We’ll tell you though ? The secret bar is called 21 Crimes and you need to have a password to get in. They play a little game with us, you see. It is taken from the 1800s and each month, a different crime will be picked as the theme for the bar, with certain guests to interact on their social media pages to receive an invitation.

But meanwhile, check out their quality beef products which are sourced from across the North-east including Aberdeen Highland Beef and Bannerman Butcher.

Not only do they offer delicious steaks but they have a Vovem Burger (YUM!!), Lamb, Lobster and lots of different vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options.

We’ve convinced you, haven’t we? Everything you need to know and some, right here.

Figment Coffee

Countesswells Road, Aberdeen. Opens 7.30am.

Figment Coffee, Aberdeen

Figment Coffee is owned by a local businessman, Neil Glover, who is a coffee lover (who isn’t ) and he is the man behind the roastery. He brews the coffee in house with a big coffee machine that is the only machine of its kind in Aberdeen. You can see if you walk passed, it is amazing!

Jamie Scott, who won Masterchef in 2014 and owns The Newport Restaurant in Newport (it is GORGEOUS. If you’re going across to Fife, check it out) is a consultant to the new coffee house.

Together, these guys decided to do something a little different and add a little spice to the North-east with a coffee cafe, with a difference. So with a delicious breakfast menu, a fabulous lunch menu and as much coffee as you want, all your needs will be met here!

What we love about Figment Coffee is that it doesn’t HAVE to be lunch, it could just be a quick coffee and catch up. Or if you are alone and need to get some work done, it is a great spot to get your head down and work.

Where can I find it, I hear you ask. You’ll find it on Countesswells Road near the Co-Op and the pet shop! It is open from 7.30am to 7.30pm daily.

Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel/Chop Grill & Bar

St. Andrew Street. Opens at 11am.

Sandman Signature Aberdeen

The Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel is one of the newer spots in Aberdeen and we love nothing more than new things in our city.

With 218 beautifully decorated bedrooms, a stunning sports lobby, unlike any other city, we are now lucky enough to have this at our fingertips.

The good thing is, it also has a lunch spot (and dinner, we should point out).

The restaurant within the hotel, Chop Grill & Bar is a huge room offering a LOT of tasty treats. From the bar, to the whisky room, to delicious local produce, you can choose a variety of different things to do here.

The menu offers a variety of different choices from Chicken and Haggis, to prawns and steak bites, you really will enjoy a taste of everything here.
