Have you ever noticed that in the gluten free isle, you look at the price and its usually 3x the price of something that has gluten in it?
You can get 5 normal loaves to 1 gluten free loaf… NOT to mention it is HALF the size!!
So instead of getting mad about it, how about we do our best to save money. Here are a few tips I’ve thought of ?
Shop out with the Free From isle
You may have not thought of this one but there are many foods that are naturally free from gluten and are hidden around the shop in different places. Why not turn it into a game…. ? Who needs Easter treasure hunts when you’re gluten intolerant!
Plan meals out ahead of time
This is handy whether you are gluten free or not, doing a bulk buy with bulk prep, you save yourself time and effort. The only thing negative about this option is the lack of spontaneity… if you, like me, change your mind on a regular basis, not to worry, I have more top tips ?
Look out for yellow lables!
The moment I found out the Sainsbury’s in Charleston reduces things around lunch time, was the moment I started saving money and organising my life. The other good thing about it is, it is always a gamble. The shop decides what you’re having for dinner! It could be anything, as long as it is gluten free…. of course!
Packed lunches are your best friend
Eating out every lunchtime on your break from work can become expensive and is quite inconvenient at times… pack a lunch! Then it ties in with planning meals out ahead of time
Buy gluten free grains to make your own products
This is a good idea if you’re a budding chef and you fancy taking on some challenges. Why not make your own flour… then you can make your own bread. BOOM! Automatically scored yourself an extra £2.80 save!
I hope these points have helped, let me know if you have any tips!
Love Lauren ❤️
